When Arizona played Kansas on Saturday, there was plenty of potential NBA talent and, at the very least, some of the best players in college basketball.
One of the bigger questions going into the game revolved around how Derrick Williams would do against one of the better defensive teams in the country.
27 points later, that questioned was answered.
"I don't think anyone would argue (Williams) was the best player on the court," Kansas coach Bill Self said. "Arizona is good. It was great to play such a good team in a close game.
"We didn't play smart at times, but we started so great. We found out a lot about ourselves in the second half."
Self was not the only coach praising Williams, as Sean Miller did not shy away from how good of a player Williams is.
"Derrick was the difference on our end," Miller said. "He was dominant. His performance speaks for itself. He's one of the best players in the college basketball."
The game changed dramatically when Williams picked up a garbage foul and was forced to sit.
Arizona's offense simply was not the same and it became apparent that this team will basically go as far as Williams takes it.
Is it possible that Williams is underrated?
It may just be.
Is Williams underrated
