Arizona has found its new defensive back coach and it is a familiar face.
The Wildcats have pulled off a major coup by getting Duane Akina from Texas to fill the void left by Greg Brown.
Akina has coached three winners of the Thorpe Award and five finalists, including Chris McAlister.
He was an assistant coach to Dick Tomey for 14 years, serving as defensive backs coach and co-defensive coordinator, where he helped put together one of the better defenses in college football history.
Simply put, there have not been many better defensive back coaches in our time and Arizona got a major, major coach with the addition of Akina.
