Arizona is set to face UCLA on Thursday and it could be a season-defining game for the Wildcats.
Arizona is coming off a big win against Washington State, as a loss would have seemingly ended any chances of winning the conference.
With the win, Arizona kept its postseason hopes alive and will now face the second place team in the conference in a game that will be nationally televised.
While the Bruins have some bad losses, UCLA has also beaten a BYU team that blew Arizona out and could legitimately be the second best team in the conference.
Washington is certainly the favorite in the conference, but there is still plenty of time left in the season and a win over UCLA would be big in the grand scheme of things, figuring the Wildcats defeat USC as well.
There is a saying that every game is as big as the other, and that may be true, but the UCLA game is the next on the schedule and will go a long way in determining where Arizona is.
Derrick Williams will be on a national stage and it is a big recruiting opportunity and rare chance for the Pac-10 to get national exposure in a world dominated by the SEC, ACC, and others.
Pac-10 basketball simply does not have the same opportunities to become national and Thursday is that chance.
