Bruins remain talented

It is no surprise that a former point guard, Sean Miller, has much praise for UCLA's point guard Lazeric Jones.

"He has made a big difference in their team," said Miller. "I think going forward because he hasn't been there very long that he will only get better and he allows other players on their team to settle in to the roles that they are best at.

"Malcolm Lee is better because he is playing with Lazeric Jones, Tyler Honeycutt benefits because they have a point guard to run the system across the board. He is equally as good on defense and he has done a nice job for their team."

In addition, freshman Josh Smith has started to come on as of late and Miller hopes he is ready to go, as he wants the Bruins' best shot.

"I hope for the sake of the game and for UCLA that he does play," said Miller. "It is certainly to the opponent's advantage if he didn't play but he really is a terrific freshman. What a difference he makes in a game.

"He is so big, he is just a problem when he gets his hands on the ball because he has terrific hands. If he is not the nation's leader in offensive rebounds per minute played, then he is second."
