Kyle Fogg has a history of playing well against UCLA and Thursday was no different, as he finished with 14 points.
"It definitely felt like a big game, being on ESPN, going for second place in the Pac-10," Fogg said. "We knew what we had to do and we came out and executed really well. It feels good to get the win. We are trying to win every home game."
One of the reasons Fogg was able to do well was the performance of Lamont Jones, who scored 17.
"Mo is a high energy guy," Fogg said. "In practice we see him score all the time and we know he can go off like that on any given night.
"He just has to be aggressive like he was tonight. It really helps take pressure off of Derrick. Mo and Jesse stepped up. Mo did a great job tonight."
In addition, the presence of Alex Jacobson helped motivate the team as a whole.
"Tree was another big turnaround in the game," Fogg said. "It got the crowd into it. He got some key stops on a really good big guy, Josh Smith, who we didn't have an answer for earlier in the game. He works so hard in practice and it's nice to see him getting some minutes and contributing for us.
"He does a lot of the little things. He's all about the team. He doesn't care about scoring points. He comes in and knows his role. He's the ultimate team guy. He just cares about getting the win and I think he's going to see his minutes increase."
Fogg credits teammates for win
