After some speculation, it seems that Ka'Deem Carey is ready to sign with Arizona and become the biggest recruit in the Wildcats' class.
Whether or not Carey is the best player in the class remains to be seen, but a case can certainly be made for the idea that he is the most important.
By not letting Carey go to Arizona State, Arizona has once again shown that it can keep the best local talent at home.
Make no mistake about it, keeping players like Jacob Arzouman and Carey close to home is extremely important, as the UA coaching staff needs to make sure that when the top talent does come through town, it knows that Arizona has been the place to go to.
Carey has improved his qualifying scores and those close to the program feel more confident about his ability to get into school and stick there.
In addition, Carey is skilled enough on the field to contribute right away and will very likely be asked to do.
Wednesday's announcement puts an end to a lot of stress for those close to the recruitment, as ASU definitely felt confident about its chances only days ago.
However, the pressure and momentum increased for Arizona and, in the end, it was simply too much for the four-star back.
