At the end of Thursday's game against Stanford, Derrick Williams stood holding his hand.
When he got to the locker room, he found out the pain was worth it.
Arizona defeated Stanford 78-69 on Thursday behind 21 points and 8 rebounds from Williams, as a UW loss gave Arizona first place in the conference.
Williams had a few lapses, but still wound up shooting 8-14 from the field.
Three other players scored in double figures and Arizona won in large part due to a team effort.
Lamont Jones continued his hot streak, finishing with 15 points and Jesse Perry added 12 while Kyle Fogg pitched in 11 more.
Arizona shot 52 percent from the field and was able to get to the line ten more times than Stanford as well.
