Receiver interested in Arizona

Bothell (Wash) wide receiver Trent Sewell is on the radar of numerous Pac-10 schools. Now he is hoping to add one more to that list.

With Juron Criner and Dan Buckner leading the way for Arizona next season at the wide receiver position, the Wildcats are in pretty good shape as far as pass catchers go.

But in a pass-happy offense like UA runs, there is no such thing as "too many" quality receivers, and Arizona will certainly be looking to sign reliable targets for the class of 2012.

Even though he doesn't have an offer yet from Arizona, a player that could eventually land on Arizona's radar is Bothell (Wash) wide receiver Trent Sewell, who after a solid junior campaign has received a pair of Pac-10 offers and is hearing from other big-time programs.

"My junior year went pretty well," Sewell said. "I had 44 catches for 1058 yards and 12 TDs.

"I've gotten offers from Washington State and UCLA. I've been communicating lately with Oregon, Boise State, and Notre Dame, amongst others."

Despite the fact that these schools have a head start in his recruitment, the 6-foot-2, 185 pound wide out hopes that UA gets involved soon.

"They're definitely a school I'd be open to," Sewell said. "They have great academics and I've been there before when I was younger for track. I just like the weather and the area down there. If they got involved, they'd be top 10 for sure."

It's still early in the process, but Sewell knows exactly what he's looking for in the school he will eventually choose.

"I'm looking for a good program," Sewell said. "Also academics, because there's a life after football."

With his hopes for schools such as UA to reach out to him and express interest, Sewell plans on playing the process out and is not rushing into a decision.

"I don't have a leader right now," Sewell said. "I'm just trying to keep my mind open towards everything. I'm thinking I'll make my decision towards the end of the summer or the beginning of next season."
