Breakdown: UA vs. OSU

Arizona faces Oregon State on Thursday and breaks down each positional matchup.

PG: Momo Jones (6-0, 196, So.) vs. Ahmad Starks (5-8, 153, Fr.)

Starks is not a great player by any means and even though Jones has struggled, he still is not shooting 36 percent from the field. Starks has the ability to hurt teams with his speed, but he is not necessarily always allowed to do it.

Advantage: Arizona

SG: Kyle Fogg (6-3, 180, Jr.) vs. Jared Cunningham (6-4, 182, So.)

In terms of pure ability, Cunningham is easily Oregon State's best player. Arizona did a good job in the first matchup and one of Arizona's main goals should be to stop him once again.

Advantage: Oregon State

SF: Solomon Hill (6-6, 226, So.) vs. Devon Collier (6-7, 206, Fr.)

Parrom is likely to see plenty of minutes here on Thursday and would definitely have the advantage over Collier. Hill on the other hand, needs to step up his game. Luckily for Arizona, Collier really is not a big threat to do major damage.

Advantage: Arizona

PF: Jesse Perry (6-7, 210, Jr.) vs. Omari Johnson (6-9, 220, Sr.)

Johnson can do a little bit of everything, but nothing great. In that sense, he is a lot like Perry, who is currently a bit too inconsistent to be counted on.

Advantage: Even

C: Derrick Williams (6-8, 241, So.) vs. Angus Brandt (6-10, 237, So.) Williams may have had an off week, but you get the feeling he is going to have a fantastic one this week as it could be his last ever at Mckale.

Advantage: Arizona

Benches: It will be interesting to see Arizona's pecking order on the bench Thursday, but it really does not matter, as Oregon State's best bench talent is Calvin Haynes.

Coaches: Sean Miller vs. Craig Robinson

Robinson has obviously done very well against Miller, but that should not erase the other part of the season.

Advantage: Arizona

Intangibles: Arizona is playing for first place and it is the last week of the season on its homecourt. This category is obvious and in Arizona's favor in a big way.

Advantage: Arizona

Prediction: Arizona needs this game and it would be embarrassing for the Wildcats to lose. For that reason and the fact that UA is playing better basketball, we're picking the Wildcats.

Arizona 76, Oregon State 65
