The Arizona Wildcats have won the Pac-10 conference championship outright with a win against the Oregon Ducks on Saturday afternoon. The 90-82 victory gives Arizona its first Pac-10 crown since the 2004-2005 season and good momentum going into next week's Pac-10 tournament.
Here is WildcatAuthority.com's player grades for Arizona vs. Oregon:
Kyle Fogg: While all seven of his shots from the field came from behind the arc, Fogg did make four of them and propelled Arizona to a good shooting night from three-point land. He also did a good job of getting to the free throw line, shooting 8 of 8 to finish with 20 points. Fogg also dished out three assists and had two rebounds in an all around good game for the junior.
Solomon Hill: This was a good weekend for the sophomore forward who again showed his all around, valuable game. Hill scored 14 points on 6 of 10 shooting to go along with four rebounds and two assists. You can tell he was ball hunting all game and wanted to make a big impact on the game and he did just that.
Kevin Parrom: Parrom was the distributor against Oregon and he did a good job of creating in the half court and in transition for his teammates. The forward led the Wildcats with five assists and had no turnovers to go along with four rebounds. He scored 11 points on 2 of 4 from the field including 2 of 3 from deep. Arizona once again got a lot out of their small forward position and it makes this team that much more dangerous.
Derrick Williams: You hate to see games late in the season where Williams is hampered by foul problems like he was against Oregon. It is a testament to the team that they were able to play at a high level with him on the bench. Williams will have to try and stay out of foul trouble and in 22 minutes of play he shot 5 of 7 from the field and had 14 points. Defensively, it was a struggle and is another learning situation for such a great player.
Jamelle Horne: On senior day, Horne started and played well for his final game in McKale Center. He will forever be remembered as a player throughout the turmoil but he got a Pac-10 title on his last run. Horne scored 10 points on 3 of 5 shooting and made some critical three-point shots and played with the energy in order to get the win.
Lamont Jones: Jones took the roll as distributor against the zone of Oregon and he had four assists against only one turnover. A four-to-one assist to turnover ratio is a good sign going into win and go home situations for Arizona. Jones scored seven points on 3 of 7 shooting and also had three rebounds.
Kyryl Natyazhko: It has been a while since Natyazhko has had a good showing but he did a good job in his 14 minutes of play against the Ducks. The sophomore center scored six points and made both of his attempts from the field but showed great focus and determination on both ends of the floor. He grabbed four rebounds, including two offensively and it was a positive showing for Arizona going into postseason play.
