Thomas impressed with Arizona's tourney run

2013 guard Chris Thomas favors Arizona and the Wildcats' tournament run seems to have helped matters.

Three weeks ago, Chris Thomas took an unofficial visit to Tucson to watch Arizona take on the Oregon Ducks and win the Pac-10 title. After the visit, he named UA his leader, and since then, not much has changed.

"Right now they're out in front," Thomas said. "I love the coaching staff, I love the players, and I love the people that are surrounded by Arizona."

With a favorable impression of Arizona already, Thomas admits that the Wildcats deep run into the 2011 NCAA tournament only furthered his interest in UA.

"I thought their run was great," Thomas said. "I thought they played really well. It definitely helped because I know if I was there we could do it again and we could win."

As the process continues to unfold for Thomas, Arizona head coach Sean Miller has done a good job of keeping tabs on the player that may be his top priority in the class of 2013. The two have been in close contact, and have spoken as recently as before Saturday's Elite Eight game versus Connecticut.

"I talked to Coach Miller on Saturday," Thomas said. "We talked about the game and he just wanted me to watch the game and tell him what I thought about it. He told me that he was going to come out and see me and look at me when their season is over."

The top shooting guard and the number two ranked player overall in the class of 2013 list the Wildcats, Xavier, Missouri, Kentucky, and Kansas as his most aggressive suitors to this point in his recruitment. With summer quickly approaching, Thomas hasn't given much thought to taking his visits and ultimately making a final selection on a school.

"I haven't really decided on my visits yet, but I will decide really soon," Thomas said. "I want to visit all of the schools and see how they are.

"I have a lot of time and I'm not sure when I'll make my decision on my school."
