Purcell (Okla.) quarterback Cole Swayze is hearing from a variety of schools. He currently has one offer and is now waiting for more to pour in.
Swayze is a talented quarterback who attributes speed to be the biggest factor of his game.
"I would say I'm pretty smart, I can play the game and understand it," said Swayze. "I'm a big player; I don't get knocked back too much."
The 6-foot-1, 195 pound junior suffered an ACL tear in his knee earlier this year in practice, but is healing quickly.
"I've been doing therapy and rehab trying to get back to everything," says Swayze, who claims that recovery is going well.
The schools he's been hearing from most are Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana State, South Carolina, Texas A & M, and Arizona.
Oklahoma State is the only school that has made an offer thus far, though he hopes there will be more schools on that list soon.
The dual-threat quarterback plans to attend the LSU camp and visit Missouri for a few practices this spring. He's getting ready for other camps this summer as well and just visited South Carolina a few weeks ago.
"It was fun, kind of cool to see a different place like that," Swayze recalls. "It was really far away, but it was a cool place."
Swayze plans to visit a lot of other colleges once he finds room in his schedule.
"I'm really considering everything," he explains when asked whether location is a factor. "I'm not going to turn down a school because it's too close or too far."
At this point, his recruitment seems to be wide open.
"I want to be able to get along with the coaches," he said. "I like to win, so I want a school that wants to win. Good facilities are important, and probably a team that has some good athletes on it."
