Quarterback planning to visit

Arizona recently offered Texas quarterback Josh Kern and now he will be on campus in a few weeks.

6-foot-5, 185-pound San Antonio Tom Clark quarterback Josh Kern currently holds on offer.

Arizona offered him a few weeks ago in anticipation of Kern getting more and it now seems to be paying off.

"Recruiting is going real well right now," Kern said. "I just got back from Baylor on Saturday.

"It was real fun there for the spring game and they got after it."

Kern says that he is unsure if the Baylor visit will lead to an offer or if any other schools are close, but likes the pace that he is moving with Arizona at.

"I am not sure which offers are on their way," Kern said. "Arizona is my only offer and I will be there April 15."

Kern is in the process of developing a solid relationship with his possible position coach, but admits he wants to see more of Arizona.

"I mainly talk to Frank Scelfo," Kern said. "Right now I like it a lot, but I am excited to visit and see everything it has to offer."

When Kern does visit the schools recruiting him, he has a good idea of what he will be looking for.

"I am looking for a good program and coaches I get along with and a good team," Kern said.

Kern is talking to a handful of schools and most are telling him that they would like to see him throw before making a decision to offer.

"Schools tell me that they are interested and will watch me during the spring," Kern said. "I feel like I have good feet for my size and I hope I throw the ball well."

With that in mind, Kern would ideally not like to drag out the recruiting process.

"I kind of want to make my decision before my senior season to focus on my final year," Kern said.

Does that mean a commitment to Arizona could be on the way?

"I am not sure," he said. "I will see how I like it. I want to get it over with, but I don't want to rush it and be a player that changes his mind and goes elsewhere."
