The Arizona baseball team fell, 4-0, to Grand Canyon in its second to last non-conference game of the season in Phoenix on Tuesday. The shutout loss was the first scoreless game of the season for Arizona and dropped the Wildcats to 28-15 overall. Grand Canyon improved to 30-23 with the win.
The Antelopes, leading 1-0, scored three runs off of Arizona reliever Chris Frey in the sixth inning on Chris Rock's two run single and Chris Raymond's RBI single. The Wildcats, who had just three hits and a season-high 14 strikeouts in the game, stranded five runners on base, including three in scoring position.
The Wildcats will head to Pac-10 leading Stanford for three games this Friday-through-Sunday. The series opener on Friday is set for a 6 p.m. first pitch. All three games against the Cardinal can be heard live on KNST (790-AM).
