McNamara looking hard at Wildcats

San Diego Westview tight end Taylor McNamara recently visited Arizoa and enjoyed what he saw. Considered to be one of the best players in the west, is Arizona now a favorite?

Arizona does not have a commitment for the class of 2012 yet, but that does not mean that it is not doing well for numerous prospects.

One such prospect is San Diego Westview tight end Taylor McNamara, who recently visited Arizona and enjoyed what he saw.

"I liked Arizona a lot," McNamara said. "I wouldn't name it a favorite because I am not ready to do that, but I enjoyed the visit."

McNamara has made no secret of the fact that a big part of his recruitment will be finding a school that successfully utilizes a tight end.

On his visit to Arizona, the coaching staff tried its hardest to show McNamara how it can help him succeed at the next level.

"They showed me a tape with highlights of how they used Gronkowski," McNamara said. "They told me they will use me in the same way, which is as a tight end, in the slot, or hand on the ground."

In addition, McNamara says that he was impressed with the numerous people that he was able to meet on his visit.

"The highlight of the visit was meeting all of the new people," McNamara said. "I got to see all the good people that surround the school and football program."

Two of those people were current students at Arizona and McNaMara liked the fact that he was able to get their perspective on Arizona football.

"Eben Britton and Mike Thomas are on campus taking classes and they both play for the Jacksonville Jaguars," he said. "I got to ask them a few questions and we talked a little bit about what it is like to play football at Arizona."

As far as a decision goes, McNamara will likely narrow his list soon and then go from there.

"I want to narrow my school list to five at the start of my summer," he said. "Once I do that I can take those schools more seriously and have a good chance to look at them again."
