Grigsby preparing for draft

Arizona is hoping that it has numerous players drafted in the upcoming NFL Draft and one player that is hoping to surprise people is Nic Grigsby.

With the NFL Draft coming up, there are numerous Arizona players that are hoping to get drafted. While Brooks Reed may be the only guarantee, there is a possibility that several more are drafted as well.

One player that is hoping to get an opportunity at the next level is Nic Grigsby. Although Grigsby never reached his full potential, he had an impressive showing at the UA Pro Day and is now hoping that translates into getting drafted.

"You have to make a statement with the lockout," Grigsby said. "I hope I opened up a lot of eyes that day and now I am going from there."

Grigsby went to Phoenix to train for ten weeks and admitted that it took a toll on him as he prepared to improve his stock with the NFL.

"The most difficult part of the whole process is the preparation is tough on your body and mind," Grigsby said.

"At the end of the day, it is going to get you to do what you are supposed to do, so it is worth it."

In addition, the NFL Draft forces players to move a bit away from the team concept and more towards individual goals, something that Grigsby caught on to quick.

"You have to know your role," he said. "Football is more of a team game, but you have to do what you are supposed to do and focus on yourself, which is a big difference."

In terms of where he could be drafted and what his role would be, Grigsby remains unsure. However he does know that he would do what is asked of him.

"I am going to get out there and do what I am coached to do and that's it," he said.
