Crane staying open

Wide receiver Conner Crane is looking at numerous schools and Arizona remains in good shape.

Receiver may be the strength of Arizona, but that has not stopped the Wildcats from going out and trying to land more for the 2012 class.

Arizona has its eye on 6-foot-4, 185-pound Denton (Tex ) Guyer wide receiver Conner Crane, who has a school list with numerous offers and continues to see it grow.

"I am doing spring ball and heard coaches are going to come out," Crane said. "Kansas, Kansas State, Northwestern, Iowa State, Louisiana Tech, Boise State, Arizona, Oregon State, and Wake Forest have offered.

"The teams that stand out are definitely Kansas, Colorado, Northwestern, and then Boise State and Arizona."

While Crane will not name any favorites, he does admit that the UA has many positive characteristics going for it.

"Coach David Nichol is recruiting me and we have a good relationship," he said. "Their offense is definitely good.

"I like how much they throw and from talking with the coach, they might even throw it more. Also, my strength and conditioning coach has been there and says the campus is gorgeous."

As far as a decision goes, Crane has a good idea of when he would like to see the recruiting process end.

"Hopefully I can make a decision before my senior year, but if I do not have a big favorite, then I will probably wait," he said.

With so many schools recruiting him, Crane already has a good idea of what he will be looking for in each one.

"The biggest thing is that I want to go somewhere with a good education," he said. "I want to deal with coaches and have a good relationship with my receivers coach and then head coach.

"I want a feel of the campus to be where I can be fine with waking up there every morning."
