Shaun Livingston update

Prior to his wedding in Las Vegas, Arizona coach Lute Olson and assistant Josh Pastner made a trip to Peoria, Ill. to see Shaun Livingston. Many recruiting analysts believe Livingston is the top player in the Class of 2004 and Olson and Pastner were seeking to strengthen the Wildcats' position. According to Livingston's father, Reggie Livingston, they did just that.

Shaun Livingston, a 6-7 point guard from Peoria (HS), Ill., is considering Arizona, Kansas, Illinois and Florida.

According the elder Livingston, Shaun is looking for a school that "likes to move the ball up and down the court quickly" and three schools on his list are good fit.

Livingston's father was also concerned that with Roy Williams moving to North Carolina, that new Kansas might change its style and run more of controlled offense. After all, new KU Head Coach Bill Self, who left Illinois to take the Kansas job, has never subscribed to the up tempo game.

"I'd say right now Arizona and Florida are probably the leaders," Reggie Livingston said. "Arizona, Florida and Kansas like to run with the ball, but Illinois is in the Big Ten and the Big Ten is more of a power conference. They just don't run much."
