Nic Wise, the highly-touted Houston point guard, visited Texas today. Speculation was that the standout from the class of 2006 might make a decision on his future before the week was out. Two questions prevail. Would Wise pull the trigger and did Texas do enough to make him want to be a Longhorn?
Wise has long thought to be an Arizona
lean, but Rick Barnes
convinced him to visit Austin before he made a decision. Wise had already taken an unofficial visit to Tucson and loved what he saw at Arizona.
At least one internet source is reporting a commitment to Arizona today, but according to a source close to the family that has not happened. It seems the visit to Austin was at least good enough for the family to want to discuss the situation. From what we are being told a decision could come by the end of the weekend.
Wise led the Houston Hoops 15 & Under squad to their age bracket championship at the Las Vegas Easter Classic. He could become the youngest player to verbally commit to the Wildcats.
Wise has friends who will play with both Arizona and Texas. Fellow Houston Hoops players Jawann McClellan and Daniel Gibson have committed to the Wildcats and Longhorns, respectively.
