If a foot injury had not derailed Belcher's season a few weeks early, it's likely the 56th ranked offensive tackle in the class of 2012 would have more offers from schools that are now waiting to see him back in action.
"I injured my foot, so a bunch of schools are going to wait until spring ball to see how my foot is holding up," Belcher said. "Week nine of the season I broke my fifth metatarsal, but it was a really small fracture and it's all healed and fine."
Since it appears that more offers may be on the way, Belcher has not given any thought to which schools may be leading in his recruitment.
"I don't have any favorites at all, I'm really open-minded about everything," Belcher said. "Even with the small D-I schools like Tulsa, I'm still really open-minded about where I'm going to go to school."
Although he won't name a favorite, Belcher did admit that Arizona has done a good job of selling itself thus far in the recruiting process.
"Arizona is right near the top," Belcher said. "I really like coach (Seth) Littrell, he's a lot like our coaches here in that he's a really personable guy. From what I've heard from players that have been recruited by Arizona, they say the campus is really nice and everything, so I really like Arizona."
Until those offers from schools waiting on his medical status come through, it is hard to see exactly where Arizona stands. It should know by the summer though, when Belcher plans to start moving towards a commitment.
"I'd like to trim my list by mid to late summer after all the schools have offered that are going to offer," Belcher said. "Whenever I have all of the offers I'm going to get, I'll probably start debating my options from there."
The 6-foot-6, 270-pound prospect appears committed to waiting on those offers too, as he divulged that he has not even begun to think about his unofficial and official visits he'll take in the summer and the fall.
"I don't have any visits planned at the moment," Belcher said. "I might go to a couple summer camps or something, but I'm not going to take any unofficial visits anytime soon. There's a chance I'll visit Arizona, it just depends on where my top three to five schools are that I want to go to by the time the season gets here."
Knowing all of that, it's no surprise Belcher isn't anywhere close to making his final decision on a school.
"I don't really have a schedule, whenever the time is right I'll make my decision," Belcher said. "I don't have a set time or anything like that."
