April looking at options

Glendale (Ariz.) Joy Christian center Jeremiah April is seeing his recruiting attention increase. What schools is he talking to? Does he have a favorite?

6-foot-10 Glendale (Ariz.) Joy Christian center Jeremiah April is a name that many may not be familiar with at this time.

However, if April has his way and continues to improve, there seems to be little doubt that his name will be much more recognizable.

So far, despite his recruiting attention increasing little by little, April says that he is approaching the spring and recruiting process as if it is nothing out of the ordinary.

"The spring is going well so far," April said. "It's just playing basketball and going to school and I am treating it like it is something I always do."

April will likely get more attention in the upcoming months, as he will now be playing with one of the more popular AAU teams on the circuit.

"I have played two tournaments with the Compton Magic and that will be my new team from now on," he said.

While April does not pay too much attention to recruiting yet, he knows the schools that have been in contact with him.

"My mom handles all of the recruiting stuff, but I know a bunch of schools have sent stuff to me," he said. "Arizona, Arizona State, Iowa State, Maryland, USC, New Mexico, and some others have contacted me."

Out of those schools, April says that he currently does not have any type of favorite.

"There is no school that I have my eye on," he said. "I just focus on right now and I am not trying to look ahead at anything like that."
