Defensive end impressed with UA

Defensive end Deatrich Wise holds four offers and while he won't name any favorites, Arizona seems to be in good shape.

6-foot-5, 220-pound Lewisville (Texas) Hebron defensive end Deatrich Wise may not be majorly known name nationally, but that has not stopped schools from recruiting him consistently.

Wise currently holds a handful of offers and is getting recruited by numerous schools throughout the country as well.

"I have an offer from Arizona, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest," Wise said. "Recruiting is going well right now.

"Everybody is even right now. All of the schools that have offered me are recruiting me the same and I don't really have any favorites or schools recruiting me harder than others."

Even though Wise will not name any favorites, he does not shy away from the fact that Arizona has plenty of positive factors going for it.

"I talk to coaches all the time out there," he said. "It seems like a pretty good place. The biggest thing is that the coaching staff is great.

"I like David Nichol and the area seems like it is very nice. Academically it is great and football wise as well."

In addition, Arizona has made no secret of the fact that it sent three defensive ends to the NFL last season, something that is not lost on Wise.

"That is definitely something I pay attention to," Wise said. "Nichol and I talk about it a lot and it definitely helps towards making a final decision."

As Wise goes through the process, he has a pretty good idea of what he will be focusing on in order to make a decision.

"I am looking at the quality of the football team and if it is a good overall program with good academics and a good social environment," he said.

"I am also looking at how the program prepares their players for life after football and the next level."

As far as a decision goes, Wise has a few idea of when he would like to be done with the recruiting process.

"I am talking about making a final decision, if not by the end of the summer, then before January," he said. "I am probably going to visit the four schools that have offered me before making a decision."
