"Recruiting is going well," Caspers said. "I have some interest from a lot of the Ivy League, some Big-10 schools, and the Pac-10 as well. I have eight offers total, and my newest offers are from Colorado State and Arizona."
More offers may be on the way for the 6-foot-3, 275-pound offensive guard, who will camp at Northwestern this weekend in hopes of turning in a good performance and earning an offer. Although he only holds one offer from the group, Caspers has his eye on four schools in particular.
Although he has not visited Tucson as a prospect, Caspers, who currently ranks as the 54th best offensive guard in the country, has spent some time in the area in the past.
"I've been to a few games and I like their intensity, and I like what they preach," Caspers said. "We used to go down to Tucson when I was a kid for a few Thanksgivings and I enjoyed it. We went down for an Arizona State versus Arizona game. I loved the atmosphere, it was a good time."
Now that he's landed on the radar for Arizona's 2012 class, the coaching staff has been hard at work to get a commitment from the senior-to-be.
"I talk to coach (Tim) Kish and coach (Robert) Anae," Caspers said. "They seem like really good guys. I need to talk to them a little bit more, but coach Kish has told me how they feel about me and it seems like I could just fit in down there."
Aside from his trip to Northwestern over the weekend, Caspers has not made any other visits and does not have any plans to do so anytime soon. However, once he does take his visits, he knows which factors are most important to him in a school.
"I don't have any visits planned right now," Caspers said. "I'll definitely be looking at coaching styles, and I hope to get to know more about the program itself. I'll be looking at the intensity, the style of play, all of those things."
Even though he has yet to sort out a visit schedule just yet, Caspers insists a decision might not be too far off.
"I would like to make my decision by the start of the season," Caspers said. "If I don't decide by then, then it'll just be sometime before Signing Day."
