Allen looking hard at Arizona

There is a good chance that Dakarai Allen will be one of the most highly recruited players in the west for 2013. He already holds a handful of offers and would like to see one school in particular start to recruit him more.

2013 combo forward Dakarai Allen may not have a ton of offers, but his talent makes it seem like it will be a matter of time.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Sacramento Sheldon four-star has had numerous schools that have watched him this week and it makes sense that he is hearing from schools throughout the country.

"I have an offer from Colorado, San Francisco, and Pepperdine," Allen said. "I am getting a lot of letters and they can only call me once a month, but I got 10-13 calls the first month.

"Arizona, Gonzaga, South Florida, Cal Poly, Colorado, Washington State, Pepperdine, UCLA, Stanford, and a few others are the ones that have contacted me."

Allen will not name any favorites yet, but admits that some schools have already made an impression with how hard they have recruited him.

"Washington State, Pepperdine, and Colorado have shown a lot of love," he said. "I really want to get recruited more by Arizona.

"I am really looking forward to them recruiting me and they have said they are going to, so I am just waiting."

Allen likes Arizona for a handful of reasons, including its recent success with Derrick Williams.

"I have seen a lot of good things between Derrick Williams going to the NBA and other things; I think that may be a good fit for me," Allen said.

As far as what Allen is looking for in a school, he already has a solid idea of what will help him make a decision.

"I just want a place where I can play to my best abilities and fit in well with the team," he said.

In terms of making a decision, Allen has no plans to end his recruitment any time soon.

"I just want to take this recruiting process for a ride and enjoy all of my experiences that come with it," he said.
