Ft. Huachuca: Thursday Night Recap

Arizona's second practice on Thursday was filled with intensity. Read on to see which players stood out, who got into a scuffle, and more.

Ft. HUACHUCA, Ariz. - Arizona had two practices at Ft. Huachuca on Thursday and the night practice was as intense as it has been since the start of Fall Camp.

The team went through basic position drills before breaking into 11-on-11 drills that started with Reggie Gilbert knocking down a Nick Foles pass at the line.

Juron Criner then gained a few yards on a reverse and Morrison caught a pass on the left. Keola Antolin followed with a short run and Matt Scott then proceeded to get in.

Scott handed it to Kylan Butler for a run to the right side and then found Drew Robinson for a short completion. On the next play, the offensive line did a great job and allowed Scott to find David Douglas deep down the field.

Two plays later, Foles came back in and completed a pass to Tyler Slavin. KaDeem Carey then had a short gain up the middle before Mohammed Usman came up with a sack. Richard Morrison was then the quarterback in the Wildcat formation and faked a reverse to Nick Foles before keeping it for himself.

Arizona then moved into a 7-on-7 drill that started with an incomplete pass but was followed by Foles hitting Gino Crump deep down the field.

Foles then found Dan Buckner on the right side before throwing an incomplete pass and giving way to Scott. Scott threw it to Terris Jones in the left flat and followed with two incomplete passes before finding Morrison on the left side.

Foles came back in and handed it to Butler for a short run to the right before finding Morrison in the middlem throwing it incomplete, and then completing a short pass to Patrick Onwuasor.

A few plays later, Arizona went into a redzone drill, where the offense started from the 20-yard line. Buckner and Douglas caught consecutive touchdowns from Foles and Douglas then had a 10-yard gain before Crump made a great catch on the right side for a touchdown.

Foles then completed another pass to Buckner and proceeded to find Onwuasor on the left side before finding Garic Wharton for a score two plays later.

With the score, the time on the drill ran out and Arizona went into an 11-on-11 drill. Foles started with an incomplete pass and then threw it to Morrison on the right side before throwing an incomplete pass and then finding Wharton for a short gain.

Scott came in and threw two incomplete passes, as Foles entered on the next play and completed a pass to Slavin on the right side. On the next play, Foles completed a deep pass to Criner, who was falling out of bounds when he made the catch.

Two plays later, Jonathan McKnight and Slavin got into it, with both players throwing punches. It had been brewing the entire practice and it seemed better to let both players go at it. Both sides of the ball got involved and it lasted a few minutes, but set the tone for the rest of practice.

When play resumed, Scott came in and threw a completion to Austin Hill, threw an incomplete pass and then ran for a short gain before fumbling the snap on his last play of the drive. Foles came in and did not have much more success, as he found Buckner for a short gain, handed it off to Antolin, and then threw an incomplete pass.

Scott entered for the last time and threw an incompletion before finding Sean Willett open. On the next play, Dame Ndiaye came up with a sack due to great coverage in the secondary. Marquis Flowers then almost came up with an interception on the next play, but Criner knocked it loose. Criner followed by getting a short gain on a reverse and Morrison caught a short pass. Two plays later, Scott found Jared Baker in the flat and then hit Buckner deep on the right side.

The UA moved into a two-minute drill a few plays later and the offensive was very impressive, as it started on its own 25 with two minutes left.

Foles started with a ten-yard pass to Slavin and followed with a 30-yard pass to Douglas to the opponent's 45. After two incomplete passes, Antolin had a catch with one foot inbounds that put the offense on the 27-yard line.

Antolin then drew a pass-interference penalty, which brought the offense to the 16. After three incomplete passes, Foles completed a pass to David Douglas for a touchdown that ended practice.
