Staff Predictions: Oregon State

Arizona will look to end its losing streak against Oregon State. Does the staff think it can do it?

Jason Nimrichter: There is no secret about Arizona's struggles, but if there is another team that has had a tougher start to the season, it's Oregon State. The Beavers haven't won a game and are being led by a freshman at quarterback who is still struggling to find his way.

UA will have a big game offensively while the defense holds off OSU late to end the Wildcats' nine game losing streak to FBS competition.

Arizona 27, Oregon State 24

Overall: 5-0

Blake Keathley: I've been going back and forth on this game all week, but in the end I have to go with Arizona. While the struggles of the defense have been well documented, UA finally gets to face an offense capable of stopping itself at any point on a drive.

Sean Mannion has had his struggles this season, and if they continue, it may just be the boost of confidence the defense needs to keep the team in the game. Combine that with a big game from Nick Foles and the first 100-yard rushing game in Ka'Deem Carey's career and Arizona gets back in the win column.

Jason Scheer: This is a tough game for me because I always believe the team with the better defense is the one that is going to win and Arizona has not shown a good defense yet. However, Oregon State's run defense is not very good and I am not sure the Beavers can stop Arizona.

The Wildcats will likely try to establish the run early and success will hurt Oregon State in a big way because it will basically make Arizona's offense unstoppable, which means Sean Mannion is going to have to go to the air too often.

Arizona 42, Oregon State 27

Overall: 4-1
