Breakdown: Arizona vs. Mississippi State

Arizona has a difficult game against Mississippi State on Friday. Read on for a complete breakdown by position, including a prediction.

PG: Jordin Mayes (6-2, 196, So.) vs. Dee Bost (6-2, 176, Sr.)

Mayes played well against St. John's, but Bost is another tough matchup. It would not be a surprise to see Kyle Fogg guard him, as Bost is capable of having a big game. He also battles inconsistency, but his ability to score is what gives him an advantage here.

Advantage: Mississippi State

SG: Kyle Fogg (6-3, 188, Sr.) vs. Brian Bryant (6-3, 168, Sr.)

Bryant is not awful, but Fogg is certainly the better player. Bryant is very inconsistent offensively and even when he is on, is not a huge threat. If Fogg can keep him off the class, he should have a relatively large advantage.

Advantage: Arizona

SF: Solomon Hill (6-6, 226, Jr.) vs. Rodney Hood (6-8, 204, Fr.)

Hood has scored in double digits in the first four games of his career and has plenty of talent. Still, Hill is playing very well right now and has the edge in experience.

Advantage: Arizona

PF: Jesse Perry (6-7, 217, Sr.) vs. Arnett Moultrie (6-11, 249, Jr.)

This is a very tough matchup for Perry, as the UTEP transfer Moultrie is a very good rebounder. Like his teammates, Moultrie is a very inconsistent scorer, as he had 28 points against South Alabama and then 13 points and eight in two other games. Due to that inconsistency, we are making this an even matchup, but it would not be a surprise if it ended up one way or the other.

Advantage: Even

C: Kyryl Natyazhko (6-11, 275, Jr.) vs. Renardo Sidney (6-10, 280, Jr.)

Sidney definitely has talent, but has yet to reach it. He is definitely better than Natyazhko, but Arizona should be able to throw enough bodies at him to keep him from going off.

Advantage: Mississippi State

Bench: With Josiah Turner playing well and Parrom looking good as well, Arizona's depth is one of its strength. Angelo Chol and Sidiki Johnson could play a role as well, especially with the size of Wendell Lewis off the bench.

Advantage: Arizona

Coaches: Sean Miller vs. Rick Stansbury

Stansbury is somewhat of an underachiever, while Miller continues to impress. If it comes down to a game of coaching ability, Arizona is going to win.

Advantage: Arizona

Prediction: This has the potential to be a tougher game than St. John's, but it is a completely different matchup. The Bulldogs have a ton of size, but Arizona should be able to counter it in numbers.

Arizona 75, Mississippi State 73
