Arizona is one of the schools to enter the 6-foot-0, 280-pound Chandler Hamilton defensive tackle's recruitment with an offer and he took the opportunity to visit the campus this past weekend.
"It was good, I liked it a lot," Hood said. "Tucson was probably my favorite part about it."
Hood was able to see numerous aspects of the campus and says that there were numerous items that stood out.
"We went to a campus tour and it is a beautiful campus," he said. "They showed us the new building design and that was extremely impressive. The most impressive part was talking to the coaches one on one and seeing that they are good guys."
One of the coaches that Hood was able to talk to at length is new defensive line coach Bill Kirelawich.
"The new defensive line coach is cool," Hood said. "The 3-3-5 and all that is great. I am going to be a nose and would fit in well because I have good flexibility and get off the ball and can be a big part of the defense."
In addition, Hood says that he was impressed with his possible future head coach.
"Rodriguez is a great guy and a people's coach that is easy to talk to," Hood said. "He is a good guy and I like him a lot."
Hood says that he is currently leaning towards Boston College because it has his commitment, but admits that he is looking around quite a bit as he knows what he is looking for on his visits.
"I just want the visit to feel right and have a good location and atmosphere," he said. "I am leaning towards Boston College because that is where I am committed, but I have to talk to my mom because I really don't really have a preference right now."
As far as how Hood will eventually have a preference, he says he will continue to weight the positives and negatives of each school involved.
"I am going to weigh my pros and cons and make my decision based on what is best for me by Signing Day," Hood said. "I am definitely looking around. I am going to take a few more trips, but have not scheduled them, so I couldn't tell you where I am going to go from here."
