Linebacker has Arizona on top

Grass Valley (Calif.) Nevada Union linebacker Tanner Vallejo has numerous offers. Where does Arizona stand? What is his timeline? Read on for more.

Grass Valley (Calif.) Nevada Union linebacker Tanner Vallejo may be considered an under the radar recruit, but that has the potential to change in a hurry.

Vallejo has added a handful of offers in the past few weeks and the 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker has potential to get more on the camp circuit.

"Everything is going good with recruiting," Vallejo said. "I have an offer from Colorado, Arizona, Fresno State, and Reno."

Vallejo wants to take his time with the process, but Arizona has definitely made a positive impression so far.

"Out of those four I would say Arizona sticks out, but I am taking my time," he said. "I like the city and I have been looking at the football stuff and I like how things are being run with the new coaching staff."

Vallejo has talked with numerous members of the UA coaching staff and they have made it clear that he is a priority for this recruiting cycle.

"I have been talking to Coach Rodriguez and Coach Casteel and I talk a lot," Vallejo said. "They call me the OKG, which means our kind of guy. They tell me they can see me playing mostly inside and I would probably be a WILL."

Vallejo has a good idea of what he is looking for in a school as he makes his way through his recruitment.

"I am basically looking for a place where I am going to be comfortable at and where I like the coaches the best," he said.

Vallejo was at Fresno State's junior day this past weekend and will be visiting UCLA in the future as well. However, he does not see himself making a decision any time soon.

"I think I am just going to wait it out," he said. "I am not in a big rush to make a decision yet, but I am definitely paying attention to everything."
