Phoenix receiver is high on Cats

There were a handful of good prospects at the John Mackovic Football Camp this weekend, one of whom is very interested in Arizona. A receiver from the same high school as Bobby Wade may want to follow in the former Wildcats' footsteps.

Corion Cooper (6-1, 180, 4.53) of Desert Vista High School has followed the Arizona program for some time and likes what he sees in Tucson.

"They are on top of my list, Arizona is number-one," Cooper said.

Cooper enjoyed the camp and felt like he benefited from the experience. "It went well," Cooper said. "We worked on a lot of things. We ran routes, we went over the offense. They talked a lot to me. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the school. I enjoyed the coaches. They have great coaches with a lot of character.

Cooper was offered by the Wildcats a few weeks ago, and he may very well take them up on their offer.

"It might be soon," Cooper said of making a decision. "I have a really good feeling about Arizona. It may be in the next couple of weeks."

The Wildcats aren't the only team the talented receiver likes. He has been offered by Washington State and says he is getting a lot of attention of from Arizona State, Miami (Fla), Florida, Washington and Oregon.

Cooper likes a lot of things about Arizona. He has raved about the coaching staff and met several players, including Ryan O'Hara and Mike Bell. The campus is to his liking and so is the distance from home.

"Everything fits me there," Cooper said. "It's only an hour and a half from home, and it is still Division I football. Arizona is pretty well known."
