Arizona hasn't hesitated in chasing some of the more sought after prospects in the 2013 class. Head coach Rich Rodriguez and his staff are continuing to push for superior talent on both sides of the ball and they aren't limiting themselves to players in Pac-12 country.
Honolulu Moanalua defensive tackle Scott Pagano is one of many prized prospects on UA's radar. The 6-foot-4, 280-pounder has been in communication with the Wildcats' head coach as well as offensive line coach Robert Anae. He has been able to establish a solid relationship with them thus far and takes the time to stay in consistent contact.
"It's very good right now," Pagano said. "We have strong connection. We're always talking; I'm always calling them and checking in and seeing how spring ball and the program is doing."
Pagano plans to have a busy summer and it appears that a visit to Arizona may be a part of those plans.
"They always talk about how they want me to come out there and visit this summer," Pagano said. "There's a strong possibility that will happen."
Pagano has an impressive list of schools chasing after him and there are still more attempting to get involved with his recruitment. With all of the options on the table, Pagano isn't sure he has a set of favorites at this point in time.
"Not yet," Pagano said. "There are still more schools coming in. So, I am kind of just waiting to see what happens."
While Pagano is drawing significant interest across the nation, he doesn't have his visits set in stone. When he does take his trips, he plans to include two schools in the northwest.
"None really scheduled," Pagano said. "I am going to visit Oregon and Oregon State."
Pagano has a lot to think about in the coming months. With a very long list of suitors to choose from, Pagano has a tough decision to make. He should make his choice sometime in mid-August or later.
"I would like to make a decision on August 10th but if that doesn't happen then it would be February 1st or likely after the five trips I take." Pagano said.
