By the end of Saturday, he did just that.
Allensworth became Arizona's fourth commitment for 2013 and says that he knew right away that he wanted to come to Tucson.
"I fell in love with the campus," Allensworth said. "With the people, campus, and environment, I just felt like it was the place that I wanted to be for the next four or five years."
Allensworth entered the Arizona unofficial with an open mind, but felt comfortable making a decision should the recruiting process take him there.
"I felt it was 50/50," he said. "I did not know where the whole process would take me, but then I got here and then made up my mind."
There has been success on both sides of the ball for Allensworth, but he is aiming to play on the defensive side of the ball at the next level.
"They told me that my position is open, but I want to play defense," he said. "I was impressed with Saturday's scrimmage and I think that everything was fast and the tempo attracted me."
In addition, Allensworth has been able to develop a strong relationship with the coaching staff, which played a big role in his decision.
"I talked mostly with Robert Anae throughout my recruitment and he and the recruiting coordinator Matt Dudek are cool guys," he said. "They are genuine people that I know I would be comfortable with for the next four or five years."
Once you commit to Arizona, Rich Rodriguez makes sure that you remain solid and Allensworth says that he has no issues with that philosophy.
"I just got here and fell in love with the place," he said. "The new facilities and everything they are doing here and I just want to come to Arizona."
