Quarterback will take visits

Pasadena (Calif.) quarterback Brandon Cox is one of Arizona's top targets. Read on for an update on his recruitment, including where the Wildcats stand.

Pasadena junior Brandon Cox is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the 2013 class and is coming off an impressive season despite playing short-handed.

"I think I played pretty well and our team played well," Cox said. "We missed two of our receivers for the first four games of the season, but we rebounded and advanced into the state tournament. We should be even better next year."

While football remains a priority for Cox, he is currently focusing a lot of his time on baseball.

"Right now I'm playing baseball," Cox said. "It takes up a lot of my time between practices and games, but I still get out and throw the football on Saturdays.

"Once the baseball season is over, I will get together with the receivers and really focus on football and really try to improve this summer."

Cox is busy playing baseball, but he is already looking at his college football options.

"I visited Arizona earlier this year and the visit went great," Cox said. "The campus and area around it were beautiful. It was really fun seeing the players and coaches. The coaches were cool and really related well.

"They have big plans for the new facilities that should be built soon. They have really made me feel wanted and it's a school that I am strongly considering. They were on me from the beginning and have been real cool."

Arizona has made a strong impression on Cox, but he will also look at other possible destinations.

"Basically, I find the entire Pac-12 conference interesting," Cox said. "Oregon has been recruiting me as well and they're definitely a good school. I don't really have a favorite school, so I will take some visits."

Cox is not sure where his recruitment will lead him.

"I don't know when I will make a decision," Cox said. "I don't plan on making a decision anytime soon, but I could make a commitment sooner if the timing is right."
