"We had a great season this past year," Kenny said. "We won state, which was the main goal coming into the season. We really played well down the stretch and it was great to see all the hard work pay off.
"I played well individually, too. I made a lot of tackles and continued to improve throughout the season. It helped that our team is so big because it allowed me to focus solely on defense."
Kenny says that the preparation he has seen in high school will help him at the next level.
"A lot of the teams we played against had guys that were going both ways," he said. "I'm going to be a linebacker in college, so it helps that I can focus strictly on defense."
Kenny is still in the early stages of his recruitment, but is excited to start taking visits.
"I'm excited to get out there (Tucson)," Kenny said. "I'm visiting (Arizona) on Thursday and Friday. I'm excited to see everything the school and coaching staff has to offer. They've been real cool in my recruitment and have shown a real interest in me."
In addition, Kenny will be visiting the school that first offered him, which could play a major role in his decision.
"The coaches have big plans down there and they say things are being built to make the program even better," Kenny said. "Arizona is special to me because they were the first school to offer me a scholarship."
While Kenny would like to make a decision over the summer, he won't rush his decision.
"I would like to decide before my senior year," Kenny said. "If I don't find the right fit by then, I'll wait, but all things being equal I'd like to decide sooner than later.
"I'm not too worried about it, though. I'll commit when I feel the time is right."
