White staying interested

Forward Paul White is going through the process and Arizona is in good shape. Read on to see White's approach, decision timeline, and more.

Despite just finishing his sophomore year in high school, Chicago Whitney Young combo forward Paul White is one of the most skilled and versatile players in the prep ranks.

The 6-foot-8 White is improving at an impressive rate and will likely be able to choose among some of the top programs in the country.

"I'm getting a lot more interest as time goes on," White said. "It's nice that a lot of schools are recruiting me, but I don't have any real favorites right now.

"I have a bunch of schools I'm interested in, but I don't really have a leader."

White's next few months will be devoted to improving his skills and looking at his basketball future.

"I got a lot going on this summer," White said. "Our AAU team has been doing really well, and I'm just trying to get better, along with the team. We've gone 8-1 overall and we are continuing to get better.

"We finish out AAU in May, and then in June I play with my high school team. During June, I would like to take some visits to schools and see what different places have to offer."

As of now, Arizona figures to be one of those schools.

"I'm very interested in Arizona," White said. "The coaches have talked to me about where I would fit in and how they would use me.

"They think I can use my versatility and size to impact games in a number of ways. Arizona is for sure one of the schools I want to check out in June."

White doesn't anticipate making a decision any time soon, but he does acknowledge the possibility of committing early.

"I originally thought I would like to make a decision before my senior season," White said. "But if I find the school that fits me best, I would probably commit. It could go either way."
