Joseph looking in Arizona

Offensive lineman Patrick Joseph holds an offer from both in-state schools. Read on to see what he thinks of each, when he will make a decision, and more.

The recruitment of Chandler Hamilton offensive lineman Patrick Joseph could become an interesting one to follow if you are a fan of either school in the desert. The 6-foot-3, 270-pounder received an offer from Arizona State last month, not too long after Arizona extended a scholarship opportunity.

Joseph has been able to visit ASU a bit more often given his proximity to the university, but the prospect from Hamilton doesn't favor one school over the other at this point in time.

"Between them it is pretty even," Joseph said. "I have been down to ASU more, so I do know a little more about their program, but that's pretty much the only difference between schools"

Joseph has been in touch with the UA coaching staff in the past – most notably Rich Rodriguez. While Joseph and Rodriguez haven't been in communication as of late, the lineman would like to take the extra effort to get in touch with the Wildcats' head coach.

"It's been good," Joseph said. "I haven't received any phone calls from him lately, so I should probably get down to the campus a little bit more and talk to him a little bit."

Joseph wouldn't mind staying in-state and he definitely prefers playing in Pac-12 country, but that doesn't mean he is opposed to traveling elsewhere. He has an idea of what region he wants to play in, but does that mean there are favorites?

"No, not right now," Joseph said. "I would like to stay in state but out of state is always an option for me. The Pac-12 would be good."

His recruitment could start to gain steam soon as Joseph gets a chance to get more familiar with a couple of programs in the coming weeks

"I will be going to ASU's camp on June 10th," Joseph said. "And I am going to be visiting West Point on the 12th."

As of now, Patrick only holds a small handful of offers, but that should increase in the coming months. With an offseason of visits and camps combined with one full season of football to attract more offers, Joseph intends on taking this process slowly.

"I will take time with making a decision," Joseph said.
