Lee comfortable with Arizona

Arizona commit Mauriece Lee was at Arizona this past weekend for a 7-on-7 tournament. Read on to see how it went, where his commitment stands, and more.

Although he stands only 5-foot-7, Marcos De Niza (Ariz.) wide receiver Mauriece Lee is one of the better prospects in the state and one of the first players to commit to UA's 2013 recruiting class.

The 2013 prospect was recently in Tucson for passing league camp.

"I wasn't able to check out the campus," Lee said. "We were just down there for passing camp, which went great. We beat Hamilton and another school, but lost to another school.

"It was a learning experience and we'll continue to get better."

Even though Lee wasn't able to tour the campus, he has been in touch with the coaches.

"I've been in contact with Coach Rodriguez recently and it's been fun," Lee said. "It is great being able to talk with your future head coach."

Lee is in the process of building a relationship with his future coaching staff and his parents have joined in as well.

"Coach Rodriguez has made a tremendous impression on them," Lee said. "He was very down to earth and just straight forward with them."

Lee has now taken the role of recruiter with friend and teammate Priest Willis being one of his top targets.

"Priest is one of my best friends," Lee said. "We've been tight for a long time. I'm working on trying to make him a Wildcat, but he's got a lot of schools after him and will make the best decision for himself. That said, I'm going to stay on him."

While Lee will continue to recruit Willis, both will continue to work toward the same objective.

"I have only one goal before I get to Arizona," Lee said. "I want to win the state championship. That is seriously the only thing on my mind. Same with Priest, the accolades are great, but we want to leave a legacy."
