Shaun Livingston begins the rigorous July period ranked as our top point guard and No. 2 player overall. Currently he's considering three offers and basically eliminated one school last week.
Last week, prior to the start of the USA Basketball Youth Development Festival, Shaun Livingston
heard that Florida
accepted a commitment from Taurean Green
. That move pretty much took the Gators off his list.
"I'm still keeping them in my recruiting but I'm not considering them as hard as the other three schools," Livingston said. "It's part of recruiting, but I'm on my time schedule."
The top-ranked PG in the class is considering offers from Arizona, Duke and Illinois. "I'm taking visits in the fall as soon as the school year begins. I want to make a decision by Thanksgiving."
He acknowledged that Duke has turned up its interest and is pursuing him much harder than before.
At the USA Festival, Livingston averaged 15 points and shot 58% from the field after playing in just three games because of an ankle injury.
In a prime-time matchup against Sebastian Telfair
he went for 19 points (8-10 FG) and had 7 assists and 5 rebounds.
Livingston will attend the ABCD Camp again but this year he comes in as the top dog. "Last year I had to prove myself. This year I also got to prove myself but I'm working on elevating my game. I'm working to dominate."
