One of the recruits Rodriguez and staff have zeroed in on is Chandler Hamilton offensive lineman Patrick Joseph.
Joseph - who plays at maybe the preeminent high school in the state - is down to a few schools and is inching closer to a decision.
"I've been to ASU and West Point," Joseph said. "Both the visits went really well. I got to check out the ASU campus and just see how things were run. It's very close to home, which is nice.
"West Point was a great visit. Everything was extremely professional and it was eye opening just to be in such an honored, special place."
Joseph is also hearing from the Wildcat coaching staff.
"I've been in touch with the Arizona coaches," Joseph said. "I'm still learning more about them, though. I don't know a lot about them because they're a new staff and I haven't been down there yet.
"It's fairly close, so I wouldn't mind getting down there and checking things out, but that's something I'm going to have to figure out with my coaches. It's a school I'm looking at."
Joseph could make a decision at any time, but he's in no hurry to decide.
"I don't have any firm time frame for a decision," Joseph said. "I'm taking it step by step and I'm just trying to find a good fit. The schools that I'm looking at have different things going for them.
"I'm looking for a school where I can continue to improve as a football player and student and I'm also looking for a coaching staff with a lot of character."
