Pitts keeping options open

Shooting guard Elliott Pitts was recently offered by Arizona. Read on for his thoughts on the recruiting process, future visits, and more.

Four-star shooting guard Elliott Pitts is a good example of a player that has helped his stock in a hurry.

The 6-foot-5, 180-pound Concord (Calif.) De La Salle guard was impressive in a few spring tournaments and after he matched that level at the Pangos All-American camp, Pitts received offers from Arizona and Washington. In addition, Pitts believes that more offers could be on the way.

"I think a lot of schools are waiting until July to see me play a couple times," Pitts said. "I knew Arizona and Washington were close and then there are some others that could offer."

Pitts has already taken an unofficial to Cal and says that he is open to any school that wants to enter his recruitment.

"I have taken a visit to Cal, which was a great visit," he said. "I am looking to take about three or four more visits this summer. I have not set a top five or top ten, so I am open to all the schools coming in."

As far as the visits go, Pitts knows of two that he will definitely be taking in addition to a third that is a bit up in the air.

"I know I am going to visit Washington, Arizona, and maybe Georgetown," he said. "I am planning on scheduling some more if I can."

Pitts is currently going through the process and is hesitant to name any favorites, although he will be taking a closer look at Arizona before his visit in August.

"I do not really have any favorites," he said. "They are definitely up there and I am looking forward to getting to know their coaching staff more."

When Pitts does take that visit, he has a good idea of what he will be looking for.

"I am looking at how much I like the coaching staff and how well I get along with the staff," he said. "Also how well the staff can develop me and if the head coach is a good guy that will care about my future and developing me."
