Dunn becomes a Wildcat

Linebacker Ryan Dunn decided he did not want to wait any longer and decided to become a Wildcat on Thursday. Read on to see why, his thoughts on the coaching staff, and more.

San Ramon Valley (Calif.) Danville linebacker Ryan Dunn told WildcatAuthority.com earlier in the week that he wanted to decide relatively soon.

He only waited two days, as he continued Arizona's recruiting momentum with a Thursday commitment.

"My family and I have been talking about it the past few days," Dunn said. "I know that Arizona is the place I want to be and has a coaching staff that I know I want to work with, so I decided not to wait any longer."

When asked to choose one factor as to why he chose Arizona, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound three-star could not choose just one.

"The coaching staff, overall school, and weather are the three things that really helped Arizona stand out," Dunn said.

As far as the coaching staff goes, Dunn pointed to two specific coaches that have impressed him the most.

"I actually love Coach (Jeff) Casteel the linebacker coach, but also Rich Rodriguez is an amazing head coach and I can't wait to see more of his personality," he said.

"I think Casteel has a lot of integrity and he expects a lot out of his players. He is aggressive with a lot of emotions and I think I can feed off him as a coach and have high expectations for myself like he has for me."

It's no secret that Arizona has been on a tear as of late and Dunn says that is something that he paid close attention to.

"I know they had other commits at linebacker this week," Dunn said. "I also know a lot of new things are happening and there are a lot of fun things with Arizona coming up and becoming a powerhouse program."
