Running back offers: An updated look

Arizona has offered a few more running backs and there has been some changes in numerous recruitments. Read on for an updated look at the UA offers.

Arizona is still looking to land at least one running back and there are plenty of offers out there. However, the Wildcats definitely have higher priorities and here is a closer look.

Pierre Cormier: Cormier is definitely one of the top targets at running back for Arizona, if not the absolute top. Cormier is mainly looking at Arizona, Nebraska, and Boise State, although his recruitment could take off even more once the season starts.

At this point, Arizona is in good position and we should know a lot more about where the Wildcats stand once he visits towards the end of July. The coaching staff has shown that it has success once it gets kids on campus, so getting Cormier on campus would be a big deal.

Craig Lee: Lee may come down to UCLA and Arizona, although we would say the Bruins have the edge for now. It will be interesting to see what Arizona does should Lee decide to come before Cormier makes his decision. Lee is a bit more of a power back where as Cormier excels in space. Lee is a very good back and one Arizona has major interest in, so this is definitely one to keep a close eye on.

T.J. Johnson: Arizona offered Johnson recently and it is doing rather well for him to the point where he will likely visit. This could come down to West Virginia and Arizona, especially considering that both schools are selling him on the fits in their system.

Johnson is a smaller back that does well in open space and would be a great fit for the offense Arizona plans on running. It certainly will not be easy to land him, but Arizona has a legitimate chance.

Adam Taylor: At this point, it would be somewhat of a surprise if Taylor does not wind up at LSU. Taylor does not give a lot of updates, but Arizona is continuing to recruit him and will try to get Taylor to visit campus as well.

Jalen Ortiz: Ortiz is another player that has been a bit quieter as of late, but Arizona continues to hang around. Washington, UCLA, and Arizona State are also involved, but it will be interesting to see how those schools feel with their recent commits.

If Arizona hangs around for Ortiz and other schools move on, this could become a much more interesting recruitment down the road.

Olito Thompson: Washington State is doing well for Thompson and his school has a good connection to the Cougars. Arizona is still recruiting Thompson and he says he wants to take his time making a decision. This is another example of a player that the UA probably could not take before Cormier, but it likely would not come to that anyway.

Joseph Ajeigbe: Northwestern, Duke, and Arizona are the three main schools that Ajeigbe is looking at and Duke and Northwestern have made him a major priority. This is another one to keep a close eye on in terms of timeline because Ajeigbe has said he wants to decide before the start of his senior season.
