Pitts preparing for visits

Elliott Pitts has entered the next step of his recruitment. Read on for what that is, his thoughts on Arizona, and more.

Arizona is still working hard towards landing recruits from the 2013 class. After landing two highly rated classes in consecutive recruiting classes, UA has found the next class to be a slow developing one.

One player that has arrived late on the radar is Concrod (Calif.) De La Salle wing Elliot Pitts. The 6-foot-5, 180-pound small forward was just offered by UA in recent weeks and has only been in communication with it since the end of spring. By getting involved later in the process than other programs, does Arizona have some catching up to do?

"Not at all," Pitts said. "Everyone has a chance right now. I am looking to make a decision here pretty soon, but it doesn't put them behind at all."

Pitts would have liked to see the Wildcats show interest earlier, but he is really just appreciative of the opportunity UA has extended.

"Obviously I wish they would have come in earlier," Pitts said. "It was their decision, but at least they are recruiting me and I am thankful for that. Any way they can come in is fine with me."

In recent months, Pitts has seen his communication with UA head coach Sean Miller and his staff grow larger. In that time, the relationship they have been able to develop is pretty strong.

"I have a good relationship with them," Pitts said. "I just started to form one two or three months ago. I really like that coaching staff and feel like they are all great guys."

Pitts has some time before he must make a decision, but the time frame for when he plans on choosing is steadily approaching.

"Late September," Pitts said. "Maybe the middle of September."

While Pitts intends on deciding sooner rather than later, he has yet to put any school in the lead at this point.

"Nah not yet," Pitts said. "I'm going to take my visits first."
