Pitts impressed on unofficial

Elliott Pitts took an unofficial visit to Arizona on Sunday and Monday. Read on to see where the Wildcats stand, what he thought of the visit, and more.

Arizona hosted 6-foot-5, 180-pound Concord (Calif.) De La Salle shooting guard Elliott Pitts on Sunday and Monday and he came away impressed with what he saw.

"The visit was amazing," Pitts said. "I had a great time with the players and the coaches and I enjoyed the city as well."

Pitts was able to see numerous aspects of the campus and was impressed with nearly each of them.

"First we met at McKale Center and met with Coach Miller, who talked with me for a little bit," Pitts said. "Then we toured McKale and the rest of the college. There are really great facilities and I also met the other coaches. I love the coaching staff.

"The next day I met with some of the people that work there. I met one of the professors, the athletic director, and somebody that works in their business school. It was great learning more about what goes on in the school and where I would be going to class and who would be my professors and things like that."

In addition, Pitts was able to watch the team practice and see how he would be used in the future should he choose the Wildcats.

"Coach Miller sees me mostly as a combo guard and I watched their practice," Pitts said. "They have three really good freshmen big men and hopefully if I were to go to Arizona they would be there too and I could definitely see myself playing with them."

Pitts wants to take his time through the recruiting process and liked the fact that the UA coaching staff did not pressure him to commit on the visit.

"They did not mention committing too much," Pitts said. "They definitely want me to come back for an official visit and I am definitely thinking about that.

"They did not want to overpressure me and make me uncomfortable and I really respect that about the coaching staff because that could probably get a little tempting."

In addition to possibly visiting Arizona again, Pitts is in the midst of planning other visits as well.

"I am scheduling a visit to Georgetown for the week of August 24," he said. "After that I have to schedule other visits with other schools working around my school schedule and then hopefully take another one to Arizona in September."

Speaking of September, that is when Pitts would ideally like to bring his recruitment to an end.

"I am not sure, but I will probably make a decision by the middle of September," he said. "That is what I am planning on as of now."
