"I feel I had a great summer," Johnson said. "I wanted to show a bunch of different aspects to my game. I wanted to make a statement defensively and really get after whoever I was guarding. A lot of that is mindset, and I tried to stick with it and I just got better.
"Offensively, I wanted to show I had a consistent jump shot, and while I'm still working on it, I think it got better. I think coaches noticed some of the stuff I worked on, so that feels good."
Johnson is not lying when he says that coaches have noticed, as his recruitment has picked up the past few weeks.
"I'm hearing from a lot of different schools," Johnson said. "The schools that stick out the most are Texas A&M, Marquette, USC, Oregon and San Diego State and maybe some other schools that I'm not thinking of at the moment.
"There's a lot to like in all those schools, and they have all done a good job recruiting me and telling me what they have to offer."
Although the Wildcats haven't offered Johnson, the coaching staff has had some preliminary contact with him.
"I'm hearing from Arizona," Johnson said. "They've let me know they're interested, but I'm not hearing from them like I'm hearing from those other schools."
Nonetheless, Johnson probably won't announce his college decision anytime soon.
"I have no clue when I'm going to make a decision," Johnson said. "I have a lot more options than I did earlier, so I've got a lot to look at and think about."
