Early offer has Cats in good shape

John Mackovic has always liked players with versatility. Whether it is the ability to play a few different positions, or a few different sports, Mackovic has always recruited talented performers. One player the Wildcats have been in on has played both sides of the ball and is now seeing his stock rise

Mission Viejo's (Calif.) Marty Tadman had a very good performance at the Huntington Beach (Calif.) Edison passing tournament and is making a name for himself.

Tadman, 5-11, 175 pounds was huge for the Diablos in leading them to the tournament championship. The gifted athlete is getting looks mostly in the secondary but was arguably the top receiver of the day. As a junior, Tadman had to fill in at quarterback when the starter, Josh Rodarmel, suffered an injury and ended up earning CIF Offensive Player of the Year honors.

He was also a shut down cornerback earning All-League and All-County honors at the position as well as Honorable Mention All-State Underclass honors. He shined at both the SoCal and NorCal Nike Camps running a 4.54 in the 40, 4.11 in the shuttle and jumped 30 inches in the vertical while locking up just about every receiver he went up against.

Tadman is one of those players who always seems to be around the football making big plays. He's what you call a 'football player' someone who may not ever big the biggest or the fastest player on the field, but is the guy doing the most damage and getting the most out of his ability.

Tadman has had a busy summer already after spending four days at Notre Dame's camp in addition to one day camps at USC and Colorado.

"I'm open right now and want to see who else offers before I decide anything," Tadman said. "Arizona has offered and I'm interested in them along with Oregon, Colorado, USC and Notre Dame. I'm hearing from everyone in the Pac-10 along with Colorado and Colorado State. Like I said though, whoever is interested in me, I'm also interested in them and I want to take all my trips before deciding anything."
