Lineman wants to visit

Offensive lineman Randy Heideman is seeing his stock increase. Read on to see what that means for Arizona, when he will decide, and more.

Quality offensive line play is especially important in Rich Rodriguez's fast-pace offense.

The UA staff is looking to improve the offensive line depth and recently offered 2013 Normal (Ill.) offensive tackle Randy Heideman.

"Arizona offered me recently," Heideman said. "Coach Anae is recruiting me and he does a good job of advocating for the school."

One of Anae's biggest pitches is that Heideman could come in and compete for playing time right away.

"He just basically tells me there is playing time available at a lot of positions, but whoever comes in will have to earn it and that nothing will be given to anyone," he said. "The coaches think I can help out down there so it's definitely good to hear from them."

As of now, Heideman says that he wants to give plenty of schools an opportunity.

"I'm open to everyone that is recruiting me," he said. "I don't want to name a list of schools because I might leave some off, but I have some options."

Heideman is happy about the increased recruiting attention, but isn't resting on his laurels.

"I'm working on getting better at everything," Heideman said. "I need to get stronger but also continue to work on my technique. Division 1 college football is a whole different world and I'm doing my best to make sure I'll be ready for whatever school I decide to attend.

"The main thing is just continuing to get better and work hard everyday, and everything will work out."

Heideman plans on letting the recruiting process play out for a little bit. "I don't know for sure when I will make a decision," Heideman said. "I want to make sure I pick the right school and I'm going to make sure that I do all the necessary legwork to find the right school.

"That said, I still want to make my decision as soon as possible so I can focus on my present and future football situations."
