Gordon looking at five

Aaron Gordon is one of the best players in the country and is being recruited as such. Read on for an update on his recruitment, where Arizona stands, and more.

2013 San Jose (Calif.) Archbishop Mitty forward Aaron Gordon couldn't be any happier with how his summer played out. Although he missed much of the early portion of the evaluation period recovering from injury, Gordon came back with a vengeance in July.

"I'm thrilled with how things turned out," Gordon said. "It was really frustrating being injured early on, but it gave me an opportunity to work on things like shooting and ball handling, and that work definitely carried over into July.

"As time went on, I just became more and more comfortable and the last tournament I was in I was named MVP, so that felt really good."

As far as recruiting goes, Gordon says that not much has changed.

"I pretty much like the same schools," Gordon said. "Arizona, Washington, Kansas, Kentucky and Oregon are who I'm most interested in.

"I plan on visiting all five at some point and I just want to see everything they have to offer."

Expect Arizona to be involved with Gordon until the end.

"The Arizona staff has been great," Gordon said. "I've talked with Coach Miller and Coach Pasternack and they just tell me that they really want me to become a Wildcat.

"I think I'm visiting there sometime in October, so that will be fun."

While Gordon knows what schools he is most interested in, he doesn't expect to make a decision anytime soon.

"I'm obviously going to make a decision my senior year," he said. "I just don't know for sure when I will make my selection.

"The visits will be really important because I will really be able to evaluate the pluses and minuses of each school and basketball program."
