Jackson-Cartwright looking at options

Parker Jackson-Cartwright is one of Arizona's top targets for 2014. Read on his thoughts on Arizona, when he will decide, and more.

These past few days have been very important for UA basketball recruiting. The coaching staff completed an in-home visit with five-star small forward Aaron Gordon Monday night and visited the school of 2014 Loyola (Calif.) point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright On Tuesday.

"They came down and talked with me for awhile Tuesday," Jackson-Cartwright said. "It's always good to hear from them and it's great to continue to build on the relationship that has already been established.

"It was more of the usual. They really like my game and how I play and they think I would be a great fit for their program. I really like them, but I'm just taking my time dealing with some other issues."

One of those major issues is the fact that Jackson-Cartwright is getting over an injury.

"I hurt myself earlier this summer and it's been incredibly frustrating," Jackson-Cartwright said. "I didn't have the summer I was hoping for because I was injured."

As of now, there is a chance that Jackson-Cartwright could miss part of next season due to the injury.

"Right now, I'm in a walking boot and I'm just trying to get back on the court," he said. "I really don't want to miss any of the high school season, but there's a chance I might, which I'm trying not to even think about."

Arizona is high on Jackson-Cartwright's list, but some other West Coast schools are recruiting him hard as well.

"It's basically the same list of schools," Jackson- Cartwright said. "I obviously like Arizona a lot, but I also like UCLA, UNLV, and some other schools.

"I really appreciate everybody who is recruiting me, but I'm just not ready to decide yet."
