Florida athlete looking hard at Wildcats

Arizona continues to recruit Florida hard. Read on to learn about one Florida athlete that is likely to visit this season.

Cape Coral (Fla.) Island Coast running back T.J. Johnson is one of the more high-profile players the UA coaching staff is recruiting. The dynamic all-purpose back has an impressive offer list, which figures to keep growing.

"Everything has gone pretty well the last few months," Johnson said. "Some schools are recruiting me that weren't earlier, and it shows some people are noticing. I'm having a great start to the season and I'm just looking to add to it.

"I have about 900 all-purpose yards and we are playing hard as a team each game. The main goal is to win State, but at the same time we can't get ahead of ourselves. If we look past teams, we can easily lose."

Arizona has been recruiting Johnson for a while and is trying to get him on campus for a visit.

"I was supposed to be there last week, but I wasn't able to make it," Johnson said. "It's alright though because I'll make it down there soon."

Arizona has pitched the idea that it would be able to use Johnson in a variety of ways.

"The coaches have let me know that they really want me and they feel they can utilize my speed in their offense," Johnson said. "The main thing they talk about is getting play makers in space and they can do that in a variety of ways.

"They say I could line up in the slot or in the backfield depending on the match ups."

Johnson is looking at Arizona along with a few other schools.

"I don't want to give out a complete list because I will probably leave some schools out," Johnson said. "I've got some interesting options that I want to check out and after I take some visits I will know what I want to do. Arizona is right at the top, though."
